Relais de la Dominique, Saint Emilion Grand Cru

Château La Dominique is well located in the North-West of Saint-Emilion, neighbor of Château Cheval Blanc and Château Figeac, on the side of Pomerol appellation. It’s the estate of Clément Fayat since 1969. Nowadays, Château La Dominique skillfully harmonizes modernity and tradition with a high-tech cellar designed by Jean Nouvel.

Area : 29 ha
Soil : 25% brown soils with clay, 75% old sands mixed with the gravel on a clay sub-layer.
Grapes varieties : 81% Merlot, 16% Cabernet Franc, 3% Cabernet Sauvignon
Average age of the vineyard : 35 years
Density : 6 500 vines/ha
Pruning : Guyot simple, the load being adapted to the vigour of each vine
Harvest : Entirely hand-picking
Wine making : Thermo-regulated stainless steel vats
Ageing : 60% in new oak barrels, during 15 to 18 months, and 40% in stainless steel vats
Yield : 36 hl/ha
